S - Spiritual - Anchor your sense of being on love, kindness, positivity, abundance mentality, with positive intentions and contribution to others. Be more involved in your faith, and understand it more. If you are not into any faith, God or gods, at least believe in the Power of the Universe, Power of Positivity. Spirituality in the broader sense is about lifting up your spirits, to live each day meaningfully and happily. Find the joy of living.

  

P - Physical - Your physical health will limit or even put a stop to all that you want to do, whether having better performance at work, or spending quality time with family, or to do more for any personal pursuits. Once you are weak or sick, you will be less functional, may even lose the independence to things and even burden your loved ones to take care of you. Thus implement an active and healthy lifestyle is important.


I - Intelligence - This is not just about academic intelligence. Howard Gardner introduced the theory of Multiple Intelligences - there are 8 aspects of intelligences - interpersonal, intrapersonal, kinaesthetic, spatial, musical, linguistic, logical, naturalistic. Identify your strengths and inclinations, as well as your challenges. Respect other’s strengths and weaknesses. Your weakness may be other people’s strengths and vice versa. Learn to be self-conscious, to address own limiting beliefs, and also to respect, live with and work with others. 


C- Communication - Miscommunication can lead to misunderstanding and can spoil relationships. This in turn will affect a person’s mental health, social health, in addition to decrease productivity and promotion opportunities at the workplace. Learning to listen and speaking well with the right tone, pitch and gestures are important. Taking up a course in communications and public speaking will be able to address the development of this life skill. Get yourself immersed in public speaking communities such as Toastmasters Clubs, Agora Speakers Club will go a long way in level up your skills in communication. 


E - Emotional

Having negative emotions is self-sabotaging while having positive emotions is uplifting. Your state of emotions will affect others too. Emotional health, or mental health is not a psychiatric state by itself, it is influenced by the other aspects of health - Spiritual, Physical, Intelligence, Communication. Thus getting the rest of the aspects right, this aspect may turn out right as well.


Striving for balance is the key!
